My Mom moved to Iceland in Oct 1975, as part of her service in the Navy. International phone calls were expensive, but mail was cheap through the US Postal Service, so my Mom exchanged cassette tapes as a way to keep in touch. I’ve had them in my possession for a while, and have decided to catalog and post them here for family, friends, and whomever wants to hear the crackle (and sometimes crunch ðŸ˜) of a cassette tape and voices from the past.
